Over three years in the making, the grand opening of Dayton Children’s Hospital Specialty Care Building was an event to remember! The $168 million, 8 story patient tower’s design took inspiration from Dayton’s rich aviation history. Careful thought and planning went into creating both child and parent friendly spaces with open floorplans, bright and cheerful colors, and plenty of window light. There’s even a Skydeck for children to play outdoors.
Prime Time Party Rental with the guidance of Julie Cannon, event management consultant with Fahlgren Mortine, collaborated to create an event that was in keeping with the contemporary lines and bright colors of the new tower. The goal was to delight guests with a beautiful evening of celebration, but the event décor shouldn’t compete with the architecture and design of the new space. Each floor of the tower has a different cheerful color palette, so our new Eden linens were the perfect match to compliment the colors on each floor. The fun petal texture on the Eden linens was also a whimsical touch for a child friendly space. Flowers from Furst Florist in coordinating colors were the perfect finishing touch. In the main dining area, our new clear Phoenix Chairs were in keeping with the room’s open and airy, contemporary lines. Accent lighting from BLC Entertainment helped to tie it all together. Guests enjoyed many culinary delights from Elite Catering throughout the evening, including a late night snack bar.
One of the many highlights that evening was the dramatic reveal of the Dragonflyer, a mixed media custom designed 32 foot wide dragonfly sculpture, by Roto. The sculpture was hidden behind custom built scaffolding and draping, which was then dropped with a press of a button to reveal the sculpture. Guests were delighted with the dramatic surprise reveal! With over $27 million dollars raised by donors and community support to help fund this monumental project, families and children in the Miami Valley have something to really be proud of. Prime Time Party Rental was honored to be part of such a momentous and joyous occasion!
